|Wallace Rue was one of twins, along with his brother, Walter. They were born on 7th September 1895 - Wallace was born at 6.45am - I do not know whether he was older or younger than Walter as I only have the brith certificate for Wallace.|
Their mother was Jane Rue (nee Pole) and the birth certificate shows the father as Walter Rue a collier. Their father, Walter had actually died on 31st July 1895 folwing an accident he suffered in the colliery on 8th January 1895, although the birth certificate does not mention that the father was deceased.
Wallace and Walter were born in Llanharry and were baptised there on 6th October 1895, along with the youngest of their 3 brothers - Albert, who had been born in 1893. They also had one older sister.
Wallace clealry died soon after, being buried on 11th October 1895 in Llanharry. I do not have any further details than that, although infant death was not uncommon in those days and especiailly under the family circumstances of the time with the pressure which must have befallen his mother being left a widow at just 34 with 5 other children under the age of 5 to look after.
Jane Rue did remarry soon after and go on to hae a further 5 children with Thomas Edwards, although obviously Wallace was never a part of this family, in the 1911 census showing the family of Thomas and Jane Edwards mention is made of them having had 11 children with only 10 surviving - 1 having died - all the evidence I have suggests this was Wallace.
